1.) “Direct Me In Your Path, O Lord” - Finding and Doing The Will Of God - THIS SESSION IS NOW FULL

Professor Tyler Williams, The King's University College “What does God want me to do?” “What does God want me to be?” Many Christians struggle with finding the will of God for their lives – whether choosing a school, a career, or a spouse. This session (or these sessions) will explore popular ideas about the will of God and will take a close look at what the Bible says about the will of God.

2.) HOW TO WARD-OFF A SCURVY PIRATE....a.k.a. Personal Self Defence

This session will be led by the husband-wife team of Robert and Amber Brown. Robert is a current member of the Edmonton Police Service and Amber is a Correctional Peace Officer. In this session we will briefly discuss the importance of non-contact self defence, including things like de-escalation of situations, avoidance of becoming a vulnerable person, and general non-verbal tactics. The session will then demonstrate some general self-defence tactics and give participants the opportunity to actively participate or simply observe. All pirates should come comfortably dressed. (We will be throwing some participants overboard and making others walk the plank!)

3.) Leading Like Jesus: Relational Ministry

(For Youth Pastors, and Leaders)
Sometimes we try too hard in ministry. We think that we need the "biggest" of this, or the "best" of that. Whether you're a pastor, a leader, or a teen, Jesus showed us how to lead like Him. It's simple, breaks the rules of our society, and changes lives at the core.

4.) Help! My World is Messed Up: Teens in Crisis

As a former cutter and somebody who struggles with clinical depression, I've learned one thing that has changed lives: People hurt and need love. This session will cover topics such as depression, cutting/self-harm, sexual identity confusion, death, and self-identity/confidence. Whether you're a parent, leader, or teen, you will meet people in crisis who need an answer. This session will teach you how to identify these issues and how to address them through the eyes of Jesus.

5.) Investigating Baptism

Baptism is an important step for every follower of Jesus.  If you are curious about why this is so important, or if you would like to be baptized this Sunday at Ignite, than this class is for you.  We will talk about the meaning of baptism, what the Bible says about it, and how to get ready for it.

6.) The Cycle of Addictions

What are you addicted to? Do you struggle with drugs, alcohol or sexual immorality? Is it texting, videogames or shopping? Whether you believe it's a good or bad addiction, there is a cycle that we inherently follow. In this session we will explore the cycle of addictions and understand how it is we fall into these traps. We will discuss coping strategies and how God is a part of the process of change and redemption.

7.) Wonderfully Made:Pursuing a Balanced Perspective on Body and Self Image.

(For Girls only)

This is a breakout session for young women, where we will be looking at issues surrounding body image and self confidence. By looking at the scriptures, we will attempt to gain a balanced mindset regarding our thoughts about ourselves, and how they affect us and our relationships with others. We will look at ways and tools to help us establish and maintain a godly self-perspective, and freedom to be who God has wonderfully made us to be.

8.) The Return of the Passover

"Journey back to the days of the Passover feast and experience this age old tradition, hands on! Learn about the symbols behind the foods, why it is performed, what's involved and a whole lot more! Get ready for some Biblical history that you can eat!

9.) 12 Steps Towards Sexual Purity

(For Guys Only)
Take your first step in fighting for sexual purity. Listen to what God is telling you now. "Haven't I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don't be timid, don't get discouraged. God your God, is with you every step you take. "Joshua 1: 9. In this fun and useful class you will learn that every man struggles with purity and God has a way to help you combat impurity.

10.) Perspectives from the Mission Field:

God's heartbeat - His glory among the Nations From Luke 15 (the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin and the prodigal son), we will discuss God's heartbeat for the lost - the redemption of their souls, the establishment of His Kingdom and the glorification of His Name in the places where He is not known (which are all one and the same). God has commanded all of us to go after the one lost sheep, to fervently look for the lost coin and to welcome back the lost son for God's Name’s sake.

“Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6:8)

This phrase is one of the riskiest things you can ever say to the Lord! Because He will take you up on your offer!
2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God doesn't want a single person to live in eternity without Him. All over the world, there are people who have not yet heard about Jesus. There are children suffering in hunger, pain, and fear. There are women and men who face each difficult day not knowing the hope they can have. God wants to use you in this world, whether it's all the way in Asia, or in your very own neighbourhood. I've been surprised and amazed at the way God has chosen to use me as a missionary in the Philippines. Hear more about what God is doing around the world, and perhaps what He'd like to do with you!

11.) Seeking the Fire for Ignition

Did you know you have purpose and destiny in your life?  Do you know how intensely the Father loves you?   Seeking the Lord is more than feeling goose bumps at a worship service, it’s the beginning of a life that is changed forever, hearing from God and walking into the world as Jesus did to change it.

12.) Dating on the Edge of Glory: Dating and Intimacy

(For Girls Only)
Let's take a look at some of our favourite songs and come up with a plan that will give your dating life a boost!  But beware...as we dance on the edge of glory we may have to look beyond Gaga (and her wardrobe) to Someone who knows you intimately and wouldn't mind helping you conquer the world of dating with your heart intact.  Come equipped with a song lyric or two and be ready to sing a little, dance a little, talk a lot, and have too much fun.

13.) Be Brainwashed by… The Panic Squad!

Learn improv, create clean and hysterical laughs that don’t need brain bleach; and we aren’t liable if you throw up your lungs from laughing so hard.

14.) Authentic Manhood - "The Paradox Principle"

(For Guys Only)
The one principle which every successful man needs to know, modelled after Jesus Christ.

15. Authentic Manhood - "The Four Faces of Manhood"

(For Guys Only)
We will explore the four faces that every man needs to cultivate in his life if he is to live life well.

16. Evolution

Come and talk about the existence of God, the reliability of scripture, and how we connect science and the Bible.  God created the world and humanity; we were created in His image and to know Him.

17. Own It - Taking Responsibility For Your Own Spiritual Growth

Google, YouTube and Wikipedia -- a world of information is at our fingertips! We don't have to go far to find research from thousands of people on every topic under the sun. If it has already been done for us, why bother putting effort into figuring it out ourselves? Whether we like it or not, this mentality transfers into our spiritual life as well. Why is it that 3 out of 4 Christians in their 20s end up walking away from their faith? A huge factor is that many of us have not taken the time to figure out what we believe and why we believe it. In this session, we will look at key ingredients to setting a firm foundation for your faith right here, right now. It's time for you to grab hold of your spiritual growth and own it!
